As part of its continuing service to the Town of West Seneca and its residents, staff from Spectrum Health and Human Services will offer free Narcan kits, training, and community resources in the Town’s Community Center at 1300 Union Road on Friday, May 12, from noon to 3 p.m.
Staff from Spectrum Health’s Medication Assisted Treatment Team will be present to offer free training on the use of Narcan (naloxone) which can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Anyone who completes the Narcan training will also receive a free Narcan kit, courtesy of the Erie County Department of Health. Staff will also be available to provide information on Spectrum services as well as provide information on other community resources. Narcan is an important first aid tool that can save lives. Just like keeping bandages and medicated ointment on hand, knowing how to administer Narcan and having a dose available is a good proactive measure.
The Spectrum Health team member will be in the atrium of the town’s Community Center, near the library entrance.
Spectrum Health also operates a full-service counseling center at 326 Orchard Park Road in West Seneca. Visit www.shswny.org for more information.
