A “Spring into Summer” evening highlighted by a unique networking event, a preschool open house and a basket raffle will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Sweet Charlottes, 10255 Main St., Clarence.
“Sweet Charlottes is a space for children of all ages and abilities to play, explore and experience,” said the facility’s owner, Molly Pitman. “In addition to offering open play, babysitting services and an all-inclusive pre-school program, our overall mission is to raise awareness about support services for families affected by autism by donating a percentage of all proceeds to Autistic Services and other like-minded organizations.” The Pitmans are the parents of two children, including a son Donovan who was diagnosed with autism at 23 months.
The June 16 event, a celebration of support and new beginnings, is open to the public and children are welcome! Refreshments will be served, so RSVPs would be appreciated.
A “mompreneurs” networking event will be featured on June 16, and guests are invited to come and support hardworking moms as they build their businesses while contributing to their families and community. Shop, network and make some new friends!
A Sweet Start Preschool at Sweet Charlottes, for children ages two through four, is expanding for the 2017-18 school year and will host an open house as part of the festivities. “With the success of our very first year of preschool, we will be growing our program to include even more opportunities,” Pitman said. “Come meet the teachers and hear about how your child can learn through laughter, love and fun.” The all-inclusive preschool program employs teachers who are certified in early education and special education, and offers on-site services for IEP students.
A basket raffle will round out the June 16 festivities, with proceeds supporting new opportunities for sensory play at Sweet Charlottes. “Sensory play has proven to have many therapeutic purposes and provides all children the opportunity to learn through exploration of senses,” Pitman added. “This fundraiser will benefit all the children who play here at Sweet Charlottes and A Sweet Start Preschool.”
