“Step by Step Downsizing — How to Simplify It” will be the topic of two free February seminars offered by real estate professionals from The Olear Team/MJ Peterson Real Estate.
The first seminar, featuring Michael Olear, MSW, president of Olear Realty Group, Inc. and a licensed associate real estate broker with The Olear Team/MJ Peterson Real Estate, and Marion “Mimi” Piciullo, a licensed real estate salesperson with The Olear Team/MJ Peterson, will be offered at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Elderwood Village at Williamsville, 5271 Main St.
Due to popular demand, a second downsizing event, hosted by Michael Olear, will take place at noon Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Sandra Lane Senior Apartments, 705 Sandra Lane, North Tonawanda. A light lunch will be included.
“You’d love to find a place that’s the right size for you, but what do you do about all of your stuff?” asks Olear. Utilizing information gathered during his 30 years in the real estate industry, Olear and Piciullo will offer a simple, step-by-step approach to preparing for a downsizing move. Ideas discussed during the seminar will include:

• How can you reduce the stress and simplify the process?
• What questions do you need to ask estate sale professionals?
• Is the real estate market better for buyers or sellers right now?
• What requirements are imposed by banks and municipalities when you sell?
With an MSW from the University at Buffalo and a previous career in social work, Olear combines his professional experiences to offer a unique blend of knowledge for consumers. He has provided seminars throughout both Erie and Niagara County for over a decade.
Piciullo has spent her career helping others. Her past experience includes almost 20 years in senior care with much of that time as administrator of senior living, assisted living and memory care communities. She has extensive referral resources for families looking for care options for a senior while helping them sell a beloved family home to the right buyer.
