In the spirit of giving and kindness, local dance studio Tonawanda Dance Arts did all they could to spread some holiday cheer this season.
TDA held their annual Holiday Food, Clothing and Toy Drive benefiting the Twin City Inter-Church Pantry. Donations were accepted starting Dec. 1 from families in the dance community. TDA is happy to share that five full shopping carts of food and three full shopping carts of toys and clothing were donated.
As well as TDA’s Holiday Drive, their Performance Team, made up of around 25 students, also performed virtually for Elderwood Living Facilities. The Performance Team is made up of two levels: Sparkle Squad (ages 3-6) and Diamond Dancers (ages 7-13). The students have been preparing since October and were very excited to spread some happiness and smiles.
Owner Melanie Boniszewski, in the words of Misty Lown, says, “We don’t teach kids to make great dancers, we teach dance to make great kids. As a More Than Just Great Dancing Studio, we know the importance of building strong leaders and compassionate members of the community. We love being able to give back this time of year and involve our students too!”
The Performance Team will also be holding a virtual performance for Valentine’s Day, as well as a spring show.
