Tonawanda Dance Arts recently awarded $2,000 in scholarships to dance students, held a drawing for a back-to-school supply basket and hosted free classes for the community at their open houses this summer.
The TDA “Chance To Dance” Scholarship originated in 2017 with a goal to touch the lives of local dancers through the arts. This year, the TDA community raised a total of $2,000 to donate. This was split between five dancers and was awarded in private dance lessons for the 2019-2020 season.
In the spirit of back to school, Tonawanda Dance Arts held its annual School Supply Basket giveaway. The basket was a storage tote filled to the top with school supplies for one lucky local teacher. After the community nominated deserving teachers, a name was picked out of a hat. TDA loves being able to support the growth of children in-house and outside the studio!
Every year, Tonawanda Dance Arts holds four open houses where anyone in the community can come in and take a free dance class. In addition, TDA had a complimentary ice cream truck, face painting and a prize wheel! This is just one way the studio stays connected and serves local residents.
Owner and director Melanie Boniszewski welcomes any child to enjoy a free trial class this fall! Dance can change lives and Tonawanda Dance Arts is dedicated to each child’s development of positive self-esteem and social interaction.
