Tricks, treats and scary good times planned at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village

Sep 13, 2016 | Arts & Culture

A variety of fun and slightly scary events are on the autumn schedule at Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village during the month of October. Heritage Village is located at 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road in Amherst.

Heritage Village’s Victorian Séance Series continues from 8 to 10 p.m. Oct. 14, 28 and Nov. 4, and from 10 p.m. to midnight Oct. 21 and 22. Guest are invited for a night designed especially for Heritage Village by Joel Dombrowski of www.BuffaloHistoryTours.com. Visitors will learn about Spiritualism, Victorian mourning culture, and how death impacted the Western New York community in the 19th century. Each evening will begin with a talk and finish with a Victorian-style séance! Please visit http://bnhv.org/event/victorian-seance-series for dates, pricing and additional information.

The annual Halloween Trick-or-Treat event, a family favorite, takes place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 and 4 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at Heritage Village. Guests are invited to a ghostly good time that allows children and their parents to trick-or-treat through the historic village while meeting some truly interesting characters! Everyone is encouraged to come in costume for the gently spooky night. While the evening is geared toward children ages 3 to 12, all ages are welcome.

Reservations are strongly recommended as this event does sell out each year. For more information or to purchase tickets and reserve your space, please visit www.bnhv.org or call (716) 689-1440. The cost is $8 for children 12 and under, $5 for adults, and free for adult members. Children will receive, with paid admission, a trick-or-treat bag, treats at historic buildings, and a variety of refreshments and snacks. This is a fun outdoor event set in a safe environment.
