Unionville Festival 2023 – it’s time to celebrate

May 13, 2023 | Entertainment

The Unionville (Ontario) Festival, one of the most significant historical festivals in Markham, is excited to announce its return on June 3-4.

The Unionville Festival is a celebration of community spirit, music and culture that has been running for over 50 years. The festival is a unique event that brings together local residents, businesses and organizations to showcase the best of Unionville.

This year’s festival will feature a variety of exciting events, including live music performances from local artists, food vendors, cultural exhibitions and interactive activities for people of all ages. The festival will kick off with an opening ceremony on June 3 with Mayor Frank Scarpitti.

On Saturday evening, June 3, festival-goers can’t miss the headline show by Johannes Linstead at the Millennium Bandstand from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will also be live entertainment and music at the bandstand throughout the weekend.

In addition to the music, there will be plenty of activities for visitors to enjoy. Toogood Pond will host a rubber duck race while Crosby Field will be the site of a Dogs and Cats Show. Inflatables will be set up at Crosby Arena for even more family fun.

“We’re excited to showcase the best of Unionville through these activities and events,” said the festival’s organizing committee. “We hope that visitors will have a great time and make some lasting memories with their families and friends.”

As part of their commitment to sustainability, the festival organizer encourage visitors to bring their own water bottles. There will be a water tank truck parking at Crosby Arena to refill water bottles.

The festival will take place in the heart of Unionville, with various events happening throughout the weekend. Visitors can explore the historic Main Street, browse local shops and artisan stalls, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the festival.

Following the tremendous success of the 2022 Unionville Festival, which saw over 20,000 visitors in a single day, organizers anticipate even greater attendance for the upcoming two-day event, with a projected 35,000 visitors.

During the festival, local businesses will be offering a special deal of $8 on select items for visitors to enjoy. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to experience all that Unionville has to offer!

Please note that there will be road closures on both days to ensure the safety of festival-goers.
The Unionville Festival is a non-profit event, and all proceeds go towards supporting community initiatives. The festival is made possible thanks to the support of local businesses, volunteers, and residents.
