Vendors are currently being sought for the first annual Collectors’ Expo, a unique event to take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in the historic Buffalo Irish Center, 245 Abbott Road, South Buffalo.
“We envision the event to be something like ‘American Pickers’ under one roof, featuring sports memorabilia, coins, stamps, antiques, original art, trains, toys, bottles, comic books, music and theatre memorabilia, and more,” said Joe Kirchmyer of West Seneca, organizer of the event. “Everyone collects something … and there will definitely be something there for everyone.”
Admission at the door will be just $2 per person. Food will also be available for purchase during the event thanks to the Irish Center kitchen staff. Additionally, 100 percent of the door proceeds will be donated to three South Buffalo organizations: The Buffalo Irish Center, South Buffalo Alive and Dog Ears Bookstore & Café.
Eight-foot tables are available to rent at a cost of $50 for one, $95 for two or $135 for three. Individual six-foot tables will also be available for $45 each. A total of 45 eight-foot tables and 13 six-foot tables are available, with many already booked by vendors representing several categories including sports memorabilia, comic books, antiques, handcrafted art, coins, music, crafts and photography.
