West Seneca Central School District looking to recognize veterans

Apr 9, 2017 | In the News

The West Seneca Central School District wishes to honor veterans of the armed forces who were unable, for any reason, to graduate from high school. A high school diploma based upon knowledge and experience gained while in the service will be awarded to veterans of WWII, the Korean Conflict or the Vietnam War.

Qualifying veterans will be invited to attend graduation ceremonies with the Class of 2017 this coming June. Qualifications include:
• Documentation of service such as discharge papers or a letter from a recognized veteran’s agency affirming such service.
• Affirmation in writing that the candidate does not possess a high school diploma.

All veterans who wish to participate in the program are asked to contact District Clerk Mrs. Latza at 677-3136. The deadline for submitting qualifications for this year’s graduation program will be May 1.

Candidates possessing a high school equivalency (or GED) diploma are also eligible to participate and receive a diploma in the ceremony. You do not have to be a resident of West Seneca to qualify.
