The fifth annual Christmas Tree & Holiday Art Auction, sponsored by the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce and the West Seneca Art Society, will take place Dec. 2-13 in the Martha Burchfield Richter Atrium within the West Seneca Community Center & Library, 1300 Union Road.
This year’s auction will feature a new twist. Instead of just full-size trees, participants will also have an opportunity to bid on decorated tabletop trees, wreaths and stockings, as well as several pieces of artwork donated by members of the Art Society and the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. The auctionable items can be viewed daily during West Seneca Community Center & Library business hours beginning Dec. 2.
The holiday items, decorated by local businesses and organizations, will include the following:
- Full-size Christmas trees courtesy of Spectrum Health & Human Services, West Seneca Police Benevolent Association and the West Seneca Lions Club.
- Tabletop Christmas tree courtesy of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce.
- Holiday wreaths courtesy of the Burchfield Nature & Art Center, GEICO Local Office West Seneca, Kate’s Cookie Creations, NRT Sales, Rotary Club of West Seneca, Western New York Federal Credit Union and the West Seneca Kiwanis Club.
- Christmas stocking courtesy of Grandma Roxann’s and Snoopy’s Little Free Libraries.
West Seneca service organizations participating in this unique holiday fundraising event, and the Community Holiday Dinner taking place Friday, Dec. 6 at Kloc’s Grove, include the Art Society, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Rotary Club and Woman’s Club. The Holiday Dinner will also include a Santa’s Bake Shop Raffle! Proceeds from this year’s festivities will benefit Grace Guest House, VALOR (Veterans Assistance Local Ongoing Recognition) and the West Seneca Community Food Pantry.
There are three ways to bid on the holiday items and artwork beginning Dec. 2:
1. Send a private message to the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
2. Call the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce at 674-4900.
3. Fill out a bid form on the table outside the Chamber of Commerce office in the West Seneca Community Center & Library at 1300 Union Road.
Bids will be accepted until noon Friday, Dec. 13. Bid updates for all items will be shown daily on the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce Facebook page and in the Community Center.
Winning bidders can remove their items from the Community Center beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16 by contacting the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce at 674-4900. Removal is the responsibility of the winner.
