West Seneca Chamber of Commerce kicks off fourth annual Community Food Drive

Dec 4, 2023 | Events

In an effort to replenish food pantries in West Seneca and neighboring communities, the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will once again host its annual food drive during the month of January. However, anyone that wants to donate early can do so at the Chamber of Commerce office in the West Seneca Community Center & Library, 1300 Union Road.

“Twice a year we reach out to the community to help replenish several local food pantries, and the public never lets us down,” said Joe Kirchmyer, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “This year we’re going to start the drive a little early just because the need in our community is so great.”

Anyone that drops off at least six nonperishable food items or personal care products at the Chamber office during December, or brings a donation of $20 or more, will receive a free pair of eclipse glasses (while supplies last) for the big eclipse event that’s coming in April 2024. The giveaway of the eclipse glasses ends Dec. 31.

In addition to the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce location, donations made in January can also be dropped off at WNY Federal Credit Union at 1937 Union Road, or GEICO Local Office West Seneca located in the Southgate Plaza.

Office hours at the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pick-ups for larger donations can be arranged by contacting the Chamber at 674-4900. Please be mindful of expiration dates on food donations as expired products will not be accepted.

The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce is an independent business organization dedicated to serving the local community. For more information, please call 674-4900, visit westseneca.org or follow the Chamber on Facebook for frequent updates.
