The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will be accepting nominations through 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, from West Seneca Chamber of Commerce members interested in serving on the organization’s Board of Directors.
Seats for five board positions are up for renewal. All five incumbents — Scott Kaltman, Tracey McCormick, Robert Merkle, Ray Nowicki and Jeff Surdej — have announced their intention to run for re-election.
Board members serve on a volunteer basis and are asked to attend a monthly board meeting and assist with various Chamber events throughout the year. Nominees must be West Seneca Chamber of Commerce members in good standing, and self-nomination is not only allowed but encouraged. All nominations found to be valid are then voted on by current Chamber members by mailed ballot. All ballots remain sealed until a specified time when they are opened under the watchful eye of a respected local “inspector” unaffiliated with the Chamber.
