Twenty-five local businesses and organizations that are members of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will receive $500 grants from the nonprofit business organization as part of its Chamber Cares Grant Program. Initiated to help members struggling due to the ongoing pandemic, the Chamber previously announced plans to award 20 $500 grants totaling $10,000, but thanks to generous donations from Western New York Federal Credit Union, GEICO Local Office West Seneca, Shell Fab Countertops & Casework and Raymond M. Nowicki CPA, all 25 applicants will receive a $500 grant. In total, $12,500 will be invested back into our local business community.
The grants can be used for any purpose, such as retaining a part-time employee, completing a project that was started prior to the pandemic, purchasing a new piece of equipment or personal protective gear for staff or customers, a business beautification project, advertising, etc.
“We are thrilled to be able to help our members and reinvest $12,500 back into the local economy,” said Joe Kirchmyer, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “The projects proposed by these businesses and organizations vary greatly, and we can’t wait to see the money put to good use right here in our community. And I can’t say enough about the four Chamber members that stepped up and contributed to the grant funding pool to ensure that everyone that applied will now receive a grant.”
