In an effort to assist and help replenish our local food pantries, the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will host its second Community Food Drive of 2022. This one will take place throughout the month of June.
“With inflation and skyrocketing gas prices, it just not getting any easier on our local families and food pantries,” said Joe Kirchmyer, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “Our January Community Food Drive was a great success and helped restock eight local food pantries, but when we were done distributing all that we collected, we were contacted by additional food pantries. The need is year-round.”
To encourage donations, all donors will be entered into a random drawing for West Seneca-themed retail products, courtesy of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. Any other businesses or organizations that would like to donate prizes should contact the Chamber at 674-4900.
Nonperishable food items and personal care products can be dropped off at the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce office in the West Seneca Community Center & Library, 1300 Union Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Pick-ups for larger donations can be arranged by contacting the Chamber of Commerce at 674-4900. Please check all expiration dates as we cannot distribute expired products!
Secondary drop-off locations include Armstrong’s Barber Shop, 2852 Seneca St.; GEICO Local Office West Seneca in the Southgate Plaza; M&T Bank Southgate Plaza Branch; and West Seneca Pizza, 16 French Lea Road.
