In an effort to replenish food pantries in West Seneca and neighboring communities, the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will once again host a food drive during the month of January.
“Our food drives — which began during the height of the Covid pandemic when many of our other events and activities had to be cancelled — have been very successful, and since there remains a great deal of strain on our local food pantries, we are now doing the food drive twice a year,” said Joe Kirchmyer, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce.
Nonperishable food items and personal care products can be dropped off at the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce office in the West Seneca Community Center & Library, 1300 Union Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the month of January. Pick-ups for larger donations can be arranged by contacting the Chamber of Commerce at 674-4900. Cash donations will also be accepted. Please be mindful of expiration dates on food donations as expired products will not be accepted.
Secondary drop-off locations during January will include the following West Seneca businesses:
• GEICO Local Office West Seneca, 1102 Union Road
• WNY Federal Credit Union, 1937 Union Road
The West Seneca Chamber of Commerce is an independent business organization dedicated to serving the local community. For more information, please call 674-4900, visit westseneca.org or follow the Chamber on Facebook for frequent updates.
