In an effort to replenish food pantries in West Seneca and neighboring communities, the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce will once again host a food drive during the month of January.
“Our previous food drives have been very successful, and since there is currently a great deal of strain on local food pantries, we are now doing the food drive twice a year,” said Joe Kirchmyer, executive director of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce. “To kick off our January food drive, a very generous local businessman has donated $500 to the West Seneca Community Food Pantry located at St. David’s Episcopal Church!”
Nonperishable food items and personal care products can be dropped off at the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce office in the West Seneca Community Center & Library, 1300 Union Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the month of January. Pick-ups for larger donations can be arranged by contacting the Chamber of Commerce at 674-4900. Cash donations will also be accepted. Please be mindful of expiration dates on food donations as expired products will not be accepted.
Secondary drop-off locations during January will include the following West Seneca businesses:
• Armstrong’s Barber Shop, 2852 Seneca St.
• GEICO Local Office West Seneca, 1102 Union Road
• WNY Federal Credit Union, 1937 Union Road
