West Seneca’s community service organizations will begin accepting bids at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, on 11 beautifully decorated Christmas trees and several pieces of artwork donated by members of the West Seneca Art Society. The trees and artwork will be on display for public viewing in the Martha Burchfield Richter Atrium within the West Seneca Community Center & Library, located at 1300 Union Road, beginning Dec. 1.
West Seneca service organizations participating in this unique holiday fundraising event include the Art Society, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Rotary Club and Woman’s Club. Proceeds from this year’s festivities will benefit Spectrum Health & Human Services, Make-A-Wish of WNY and BurchFest 2024.
Themed trees will be decorated by the following groups: Burchfield Nature & Art Center, GEICO Local Office West Seneca, Grandma Roxann’s and Snoopy’s Little Free Libraries, Kate’s Cookie Creations, Lauren Harvey/Buffalo Bandettes, NRT Sales, Spectrum Health & Human Services, West Seneca Chamber of Commerce, West Seneca Lions Club, West Seneca Police Benevolent Association and WNY Federal Credit Union. The artificial trees are pre-lit; 10 stand 6.5 feet tall, while one stands at approximately five feet tall.
Additionally, approximately 15 pieces of art donated by members of the West Seneca Art Society and other artisans will also be on display and up for auction in the Community Center & Library beginning Dec. 1.
There are three ways to bid on the trees and artwork beginning Dec. 1:
1. Send a private message to the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
2. Call the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce at 674-4900.
3. Fill out a bid form on the table outside the Chamber of Commerce office in the West Seneca Community Center & Library at 1300 Union Road.
Bids will be accepted until noon Wednesday, Dec. 13. Bid updates for all trees and artwork will be shown daily on the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. The minimum opening bid is $100 per tree and $25 per piece of artwork.
The winning bidders can remove their trees and artwork from the Community Center beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 by contacting the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce at 674-4900. Removal is the responsibility of the winner.
Additionally, the town’s service organizations will hold a dessert auction during the 2023 West Seneca Community Holiday Party at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at Kloc’s Grove, 1245 Seneca Creek Road, West Seneca. Tickets to this event are $40 per person and can be ordered by calling Don Duchene at 480-2892 or Kimberley Love at 796-4191. The dessert auction will feature both a silent auction and live auction.
