The West Seneca Historical Society will present a program on historic preservation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the West Seneca Senior Center, 4620 Seneca St., West Seneca.
The program will be presented by Tom Yots, CEO of Preservation Studios of Buffalo, a full-service historic preservation consulting firm serving all of New York State and the Greater Northeast since 2002 and recently engaged by the Town of West Seneca to help it develop an historic preservation program and commission.
Yots will review the “nuts and bolts” of why and how a community such as West Seneca develops and implements a historic preservation program. He will offer some case studies of local preservation efforts and discuss the benefits a formal program can offer to a town and its residents.
The program is open to the public and is free to members of the West Seneca Historical Society and students. A $5 donation is required of non-members. A short business meeting will precede the program.
